Halifax’s Paralympic superstar Hannah Cockroft will be aiming for another gold medal haul at the European championships.
The track star has already stormed to victory in the 100m T34 race at the championships being held in Swansea.
However, she will be looking to add to that tally when she competes in the 800m today at 4.10pm.
Speaking after her triumph she said: “I’m glad I’ve got another gold but I have got to defend all my medals and that is going to be hard.
“The big challenge for me will come on Friday when I attempt a new distance (800m).”
Rastrick T54 racer Georgina Oliver narrowly missed out on a medal after finishing fourth in the 100m.
The 21-year-old finished with a time of 18:30 - 0.4 seconds off third place.
She was placed seventh in the T54 400m race, but will look to build on her experience at the championships.
The former Rastrick High School pupil, who was selected to form part of the 56-strong Great Britain and Northern Ireland team, found fame on the world stage last year after picking up a bronze medal in last year’s championships in Lyon.
