On Saturday night at The Red Rooster, Brookfoot, popular local singer Georgie Farrar will lead the Open Mic session from 7.30pm.

The George

Matt Parkinson at The George is in the throes of a massive refurbishment at the pub which is currently closed due to the extensive work being carried out. The pub will re-open at 9am on Wednesday August 17, which is just ahead of the Brighouse Canal and Music festival on the August 20, which will feature over 70 market stalls down Commercial Street and a stage on Bradford Road out side the pub with live bands which has been arranged by Brighouse Business Initiative. It will be a fun packed opening event at the pub with plenty of giveaways and a chance for people to see the new look pub, with great valued drinks, entertainment and The George will probably become one of the best places in Brighouse for live sport! “You will not believe what we’ve done to the place!” said an excited Matt. The town centre pub will be showing Manchester United Vs Southampton on Friday August 19, followed by live entertainment from Wayne Adams, and on Saturday August 20, it’s the big opening party with DJ Joe!

Jeremy’s

This Friday night at Jeremy’s they have a band making their debut at Jeremys- 3 Daze Lost who play a great mix of rock, pop and punk covers. Saturday night is definitely one not to be missed as it sees the return of the fantastic Suzie and the Groove. A rare public appearance playing retro house and dance classics. At 4pm Sunday they will welcome back the lovely Rebecca Lindley singing classics. The ever popular Canal Festival is here again and at Jeremys they are looking forward to celebrating the event along with the rest of Brighouse. They have a great weekend of music kicking off with the amazing five piece function band Chequered, playing a mix of pop, Soul, R’n’B , reggae and much more. Saturday brings a band new to Jeremys, OCD, a female fronted rock and pop covers band. Sunday afternoon they have the lively acoustic sounds of DB3.

Hopefully the weather will be kind and to help enjoy their newly refurbished beer garden they have some special Canal Fest cocktails for patrons to enjoy, perhaps a On the Horizon or a Shipwreck Sangria would float your boat! Food will be available 12 – 8pm all weekend.
