Good Times: Holiday romance leads to wedding

Congratulations to former Rastrick and Brighouse landlord Alan Ingle, now mine host at the Pear Tree near Cooper Bridge, who has recently married.

Alan, a former landlord of the Junction, Rastrick, and manager of the Casa, Brighouse, has married in a whirlwind romance in Thailand after meeting wife Emmy whilst on holiday.

“I have been going to Thailand for seven years on holiday and last November I happened to go to Emmy’s bar which is full of ex pats. Emmy, the owner and I began talking and I knew we had made a connection. I avoided the bar for almost the rest of my holiday as I didn’t think I wanted to become involved with anyone but I did return a couple of days before I came home and we exchanged numbers. We spoke almost every day on the phone and in December she asked if she could take me on holiday, so I returned to Thailand.

“We married in April with some family and friends present and will now start the process of bringing Emmy over here so the Pear Tree is to have a landlady!” beamed Alan. He is planning to go back for a traditional Thai wedding in October and when they return to England they will have a blessing at St Mary’s Church in Mirfield.
