This month’s Good Times column includes updates from The Junction, The Barge, Jeremy’s At The Boathouse, Casa, Prego, the Holisday Inn and The Commercial & Railway Inn.
Phil Ward, landlord at The Junction Inn, Rastrick, has enlisted the help of Gary Ellis in organising Flood Aid for all those affected in the Calder Valley.
The event is due to take place at the pub on Saturday, February 20 and will be a musical extravaganza.
There will be over 11 hours of music from 1pm from Bellaruse, Michelle Veasey, Oil City, Mick Brown, Junction 35, Stephen J Bolton, The Surge, Georgia Farrar, Olds Cool, Belt of the Celts, Matthew Farrington and Stonefall.
The entrance fee is £3 which will all go to the fund. Food will be available all day plus they will be holding raffles with prizes including meals for two, food hampers, beer hampers and much more.

Tonight (Thursday) at The Barge, they have their weekly Jam session followed on Friday night with the popular Psychoslinkys. Saturday evening’s live music comes from Ziggy Stardust and the weekend’s music is wrapped up on Sunday night with the Bopsville Shakers.
Jeremy’s at the Boathouse
At Jeremy’s this Friday they have live music from 3 Men and a Man starting at 9.30pm. Saturday evening, again from 9.30pm, Redhouse will be on stage and then on Sunday afternoon they have the acoustic set from Scott Fletcher.
The popular eating, drinking and music venue is also taking bookings for Valentine’s Day with a special menu.
The Casa have gone all out for Valentines Day with the chance to spoil your loved one with a package a day early on Saturday, February 13 including live music, a three course dinner and fizz on arrival.
You could make a night of it with their dinner, bed and breakfast package which includes a bottle of Veuve Cliquot Champagne on arrival, overnight accommodation, dinner for two and complimentary choices from their brunch menu the following morning.
Prego restaurant has a Blackboard Specials week from next Monday, February 8 right through to Sunday, February 14. You can view their Valentine’s specials on their website. The Sunday family menu will not be available on Sunday, February 14. A la carte, children’s menu and blackboard specials will be available. The Menu dello Chef is available Monday 8 – Saturday 13 February at the usual times.
The Holiday Inn, Brighouse has a three course Valentine’s menu with a glass of prosecco available at £25 per person. You can also book a package to stay over at £99 per couple including bed and full English breakfast, a bottle of Prosecco and chocolates in your room, candlit three course meal and use of the hotel’s leisure facilities.
The Commercial & Railway Inn
It’s a busy weekend at the Commercial and Railway Inn, Gooder Lane, starting tonight (Thursday) when they have their weekly quiz night with DJ Scouse Paul. It’s a £75 jackpot. On Saturday it’s a sing-a-long with Mark at the piano. Then on Sunday the pub will be joining in the world’s biggest quiz. They will be one of over a thousand pubs taking part to raise money for hundreds of charities.
Then Sunday Funday continues with Jiving Jeff from 2pm until 5pm and he will then be followed by DJ PJ Des from 6.30pm until finish, Des will be quizmaster and there will be a pie and pea supper with raffles. The Commercial Railway will donate 50p from every pint sold all day and they would love the support of the community and hope they can make it into the Guinness Book of Records.
Red Eye, a last minute booking for The Crown at Lane Head, will be playing this Saturday from 9pm, all welcome.
The Dusty Miller
Throughout February, the Dusty Miller has extended their two for £10 meal deal. As well as Tuesdays to Fridays, 12pm to 2pm, the offer is available from 5pm to 8pm on a choice of main courses, Their Super Sunday lunch menu is served from 12pm to 6pm. There will be entertainment on Saturday, February 13 from the band Audible Sound.
