Actor and comedian, Stephen Fry, stepped in to help raise £245 for a Brighouse youth cancer charity.

The celebrity donated an autographed Paul Smith tie from his personal collection to the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust, set up in memory of the former Brighouse schoolgirl.

The tie was auctioned online as part of eBay’s Big Charity 50 campaign, part of the global marketplace’s celebration of reaching its £50 million landmark.

Mr Fry said: “I am so proud to support the trust and all that they do for young people, their families and friends through trying and upsetting times.

“I am continuously amazed by the kindness and cheerfulness shown by the trust, which adds an extra mile to everything they do.”
