AUTUMN fashions and Christmas party gear were in the spotlight at a special fashion show organised by the Brighouse Friends of Overgate Hospice.
The show was hosted by Mandy Barwick and Andrew Young at the Old Brods Rugby Club, Hipperholme, and raised around £1,500 for the charity.
Angela Curran, whose husband Nigel died at the hospice of a rare form of cancer in 2007, has helped to organise a number of charity fashion shows over the years - but said this was one of the best.
Retailers taking part included Rah Rah Boutique at Hipperholme, Flair in Elland, Glitz from Siddal, the Prop Shop, Anon Lingerie and bridal shop Always and Forever.
“It was a fun evening with music and stalls and there was a great atmosphere,” said Angela, of Hove Edge, Brighouse.
“There was some great autumn and winter fashion on show as well as lovely, glamorous party dresses.
“The models all got into the party spirit, the audience loved it and I’ve had some fantastic feedback.
“We moved the date of the event forward so that it didn’t clash with the hospice’s own fashion show and were a bit worried that it might affect ticket sales. But the response was great and all the tickets sold out.”
l Overgate Hospice is holding a fund-raising fashion show at the Shay Stadium, Halifax, on November 15 at 7pm. Tickets are £5.
