DANCERS at Casper’s Freestyle Dance came away from a top competition with a number of titles.

The Brighouse dance school competed at the Nationals for the freestyle and rock ‘n’ roll weekend after qualifying last October.

The competition was held at Winter Gardens in Blackpool where qualifiers from all over the world competed for honours.

Teacher Claire Lambert said: “We had some fabulous results and amazing achievements in what was a very tough competition. We claimed a total of 16 placings in all.

“I would also like to say well done to the whole school who competed in the medallist competition in October when they took home 44 placings from the event in Durham.”

n The results from Blackpool were:- Freestyle 6-10 stardance: 1, Kieron Collins; 14-17 year solo, 2, Sam Mullins; 18-25 year solo 1, Craig Hornigold; 18-25 year solo 3, Steven Wilson.

Freestyle pairs - 14-17 years, 4, Destiny Maxamillian and Rebecca Gaunt; 18-25 years, 1, Craig Hornigold and Sam Mullins; 18-25 years, 2, Leanne Trunkwold and Steven Wilson; 26-35 years, 1, Mathew Waddington and Sarah Banks.

Rock ‘n’ roll - 9 years and under, 6, Jordan Egan and Billie Lambert; 14-17 years, 2, Megan and Emma Gibson; 18-25 years, 4, Olivia Denton and Autumn Blakey; 18-25 boy/girl rock ‘n’ roll, 1, Daniell Richardson and Craig Hornigold, 2, Destiny Maxamillian and Steven Wilson, 4, Gennavieve Gledhill and Matthew Waddington; Team - 3, Hardcore.
