Firefighters rescue boy, 11, stuck on top of fountain in Halfax park

Firefighters had to rescue an 11-year-old boy after he got stuck on top of a a stone fountain in Shroggs Park this afternoon (Monday).

A crew from Illingworth used a ladder to rescue the boy from the structure in Wheatley Lane, Lee Mount, at 2.47pm.

The boy was uninjured.

It is believed he climbed the fountain as a dare.
