Good Times: Golfing triumph for Barge duo

l Dean Wright and Chris Scott picked up the winners’ trophy from chairman Mark Wright after a successful Chairman’s Day competition run by the Barge pub’s Golf Society at Woodhall Hills Golf Club. A total of 24 golfers took part in the doubles tournament before tucking into a spread laid on by Julian and Michelle Hadala of the Barge.

Tonight, Thursday, Stuart from the band One Eyed Jacks will provide the music and on Friday evening The Carnival will take to the stage. On Saturday Vagabond will play a mixed set of 80s covers, Bon Jovi numbers and a few party tracks while on Sunday Masquerade will play blues, jazz and MOR numbers. On Easter Saturday, April 19, tribute band Noasis will take to the stage.

l Hayley Marsland, daughter of Trevor and Sue Greenwood at the Railway and Commercial, Gooder Lane, has organised a Ladies’ Night on March 28 for breast cancer charities. There will be stalls, raffles and an auction - and ladies will be able to book pampering sessions, with a neck and shoulder massage and spray tan, for £20.

l Sunday’s acoustic sessions at the Beck, Bradford Road, will be provided by Ian Jeffries, Paul Raby and Peter stone, playing from 4.30pm. All welcome.
