Good Times: Christmas crackers at the pubs

l The Railway and Commercial Inn is hosting a charity race night tonight, Christmas Eve. Customers will be able to ‘own’ a race horse for the night, enter the owner’s enclosure, wear Ascot-style hats and win prizes on the night.

Piano player Mark will provide the Christmas Eve music for a festive sing-along. The pub will open on Christmas Day from 11am to 2pm and Boxing day from noon to midnight.

l Mick Brown from the Pyschoslinkies will entertain customers at the Barge, Brighouse, with a Christmas Eve acoustic sessions from 7pm. On December 27 there will be live music from rock band Carnival and Huddersfield rock group Storm will play on Saturday evening.

l Steve ‘Zingy’ Ingle will have a Christmas Eve disco - all welcome to join the dancing. On Christmas Day he will open from noon to 2pm and then again from 8pm.

l Maxine Maragh at The Rock, Upper Edge will be providing traditional Christmas entertainment for regulars and new customers. On Christmas Day the pub will open from noon to 2pm with carol-singing.

l Brian and Anne Johnson are celebrating their second Christmas at the Greyhound, Rastrick, since taking over in February 2012. On Christmas Eve the pub will host a karaoke and disco, hosted by Mark. The pub will open on Christmas Day from 11am to 2pm.
