Good Times: Busy time for pubs and clubs

IT’s a busy festive period for The Commercial & Railway Inn. It all starts tonight with a Christmas themed quiz. Up for grabs there are £10 beer vouchers and the jackpot is at £40. On Sunday from 2.30pm they have DJ PJ playing his golden oldies with everyone welcome.

On Christmas Eve the pub is hosting a charity race night in aid of a local unwell child.

Mark, the piano player, will also be entertaining on Christmas Eve with a Christmas sing-a-long. The pub will be open on Christmas Day for drinks 11-2pm and on Boxing Day noon until 12am.

ADRIAN Whitworth at The Beck, Bradford Road, has this Saturday from 5pm the Kirklees Brass playing Christmas carols.

On Sunday from 4pm they will welcome Roger Davies, Ian Crabtree and Dave Kennedy for a special Christmas music session.

TONIGHT (Thursday) at The Barge it’s the weekly Jam Session with Mick Brown. On Friday, the Screaming Eagles will take to the stage featuring Paul “Fasker” Johnson from the rock band Saxon. On Saturday Blood Sweat and Beers will be entertaining. The Festive packed entertainment carries through to Sunday with Roxyrama from 6.30pm, a Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music tribute band. On Christmas Eve there will be a special acoustic set from Mick Brown starting from around 7pm.
