Fair turns spotlight on funding issues

Help is at hand for voluntary and community groups in the health and well-being field who are looking for funding or advice.

Calderdale Health and Well-Being Showcase and Funding Fair is being held on Wednesday, February 27 at the Elsie Whiteley Centre, Hopwwod Lane, Halifax, from 9am to 4pm.

Groups from Brighouse, Rastrick, Hipperholme and Lightcliffe are invited to come along and find out about the grants that are available.

The drop-in event is organised by Voluntary Action Calderdale and the Community Foundation for Calderdale.

There will be the opportunity to hear from the organisations which are running projects funded from the Grants for Health and Well Being Programme in 2012-13.

Twenty-six projects are being supported to improve and make a real difference to people’s health in Calderdale.

There will be workshops throughout the day and guest speakers from the Clinical Commissioning Group.

Exhibitors will include funding and advice agencies such as the Big Lottery Fund/Awards for All, Calderdale Council Small Grants, Children in Need, Fit 4 Funding, Lloyds TSB Foundation and West Yorkshire Community Accounting Service (WYCAS).

There will be displays from many of the funded projects as well as special presentations from four of the projects.

Lunch and refreshments are available thoughout the day.
