Young writers show their creativity with 500 words

Budding young Calderdale authors showed off their creative flair in a writing competition. The competition, launched by Calderdale Council, was organised to coincide with BBC Radio’s 500 Words event.

Participants were asked to write a short story about any chosen subject and the winners were then invited to an awards ceremony at Halifax Town Hall.

All received a prize and certificate for their fantastic work.
