Staff and pupils at St John’s Primary Academy, Clifton, are top of the class in Brighouse in the recently published school league tables.
The academy saw 97 per cent of its Year six pupils reach the national benchmark of level four or above in reading, writing and maths.
The results ranked the academy top in the Brighouse area and seventh overall in Calderdale in the key stage two league tables published by the Department for Education.
Head teacher Helen Lever said she was very proud of the academy’s achievements.
“We’ve had a very good year. We had an outstanding Ofsted in the summer and we had amazing results,” she said.
“It’s a coming together of amazing teachers, very committed pupils and supportive parents.
“We are pleased that all the pupils have gone to high school and made successful starts.
“That makes me happier than doing well in the league tables.”
