Families went down to Wellholme Park in Brighouse with their sandwiches and treats all packed for a day in the park.
The Make It, Take it picnics were organised by children centres and were created with the aim to improve child and family health and wellbeing.
Louise Thomas, deputy children centre manager at Field Lane, said: “The activities were about encouraging families to explore the outdoors, use the local facilities and to have fun with their families and friends.
“The children centre provided everything which was required to make a healthy and tasty picnic and staff provided sports and game resources which the families could use to play games.
“Once again from the feedback which we received all involved were very happy and had enjoyed a lovely day.
