In the largest competition to date, 52 teams from 15 Calderdale primary schools, with over 520 school children from years 3, 4, 5, and six took part.

Heather Whittingham, member of the PTSC at St Joseph’s and one of the organisers said: “The day’s excellent football and netball matches were all played with a great sporting and competitive spirit.

“It was thought the matches were close with many going to extra time but the finals were nail biting especially the netball, with the host team desperate to bring home the trophy.

“A huge thank you must go to all the children, parents and coaches from all the schools and local business for their support.”
