Cyclists are in the saddle for a campaign to build a new sixth-form for pupils at Calderdale’s only special high school.

The Big Bike Bash will take place on Saturday, October 4, when a team of staff, pupils and friends of Ravenscliffe School will tackle the 42-mile Tour deFrance route for children with learning disabilities. A cycling inspired festival will also take place at Halifax’s Spring Hall athletics track, Huddersfield Road. The public is invited to take part in a static bike challenge and a British Cycling Halifax Speedway bike ride, from 1-4pm.

The Big Bike Bash hopes to raise £3,000 for the school, which aims to raise £500,000 for interior special equipment. To donate see virginmoneygiving.com/springhall.
