Rastrick High School choirs were once again very successful in the recent Mrs Sunderland Festival held in Huddersfield Town Hall.

The Junior Choir, for Year nine students and under, won their class with a distinction grade. In the evening, eleven choirs competed in the Senior Youth Choir class. RHS had four choirs entered in this class; Chamber Choir, Boys’ Choir, Senior Choir and full School Choir. The Senior Choir came joint second and the full School Choir was placed first. Both were awarded distinction grades. Rastrick’s Music Department is also very proud of the following solo singers: Elizabeth Gunshon, Connie Breen, Amelia Lewis, Saskia Kirk, Emily Walker, Ophelia Ormerod, Harkiran Banga, Georgia Collier, Alice Lambert, Amy Jagger, Ben Malone, George Jenkins and Sean Reilly.

George won the Huddersfield Choral Society Rose Bowl for young singers.
