Some Lightcliffe Academy Year 9, 10 and 12 students visited Robin Hoods Bay for a Creative Writing Weekend led by Mr Burnett.

All were tasked with writing a 500 word ghost story, based on a place in Robin Hoods Bay.

The results were inspirational and it is hoped that some, if not all, will be published to a wider audience in the near future.

The weekend was not all about writing; a long walk along the beach to the seal colony at Ravenscar; chips and then ice cream on the quarterdeck followed by an evening of music and storytelling were the highlights.

With the continued support of Mr Burnett, Mr and Mrs Harris it is hoped that this becomes an annual event in the Lightcliffe Academy calendar.
