A Rastrick pupil is preparing to embark on the challenge of a lifetime.

Josh Simpson who attends William Henry Smith School, Rastrick, has been picked as one of ten pupils to take part in a 15-day trek to the Himalayas.

He will take part in the gruelling yet potentially life-changing adventure where they will trek to the Mount Everest Base Camp and beyond to the Kala Patthar summit.

Josh will be joined by his teacher Barrie Campbell on the trip on October 7.

But in order to be able to complete the task, Josh must raise £3,000 towards the trip.

The school is already planning a charity evening in order to raise funds on October 4 in Elland and is looking for local companies that are willing to supply a suitable prize for the auction/raffle or to make a sponsorship towards the trip.

Any suitable product/service would be much appreciated.

Money raised at the event will be used to fund the trip and the specialist clothing that Josh will need.

If you are able to help please send your donation direct to the school in Boothroyd Lane, Rastrick.
