A specialist school in Rastrick has once again been rated outstanding by Ofsted after their latest social care inspection.
Inspectors made an unannounced visit to the William Henry Smith School and met with senior staff as well as speaking with a number of residential students.
In the report the inspection team said: “Children’s and young people’s life chances significantly improve because of the work that the school undertakes with children, young people and their families.
“Many young people move on to university, college and employment.
“The senior management team is highly motivated and ambitious for children and young people. The staff team mirrors these expectations in its work with children and young people.”
The school is a non-maintained special school for pupils who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
They may also have additional needs that relate to specific learning difficulties.
