‘Outstanding’ in all areas

CLIFTON Village Nursery has been given an ‘outstanding’ rating by Ofsted.

Inspectors who visited the nursery based at St John’s CE Primary Academy have awarded the same verdict in all 17 areas.

“Children at Clifton Village Nursery thrive in a highly stimulating environment where overall they make excellent progress with their learning and development,” said Inspector Jacqueline Baker.

“Staff use their exceptional knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage to plan exciting activities that encourage children to become inquisitive and active learners.

“Partnerships with parents and other agencies are outstanding and ensure that continuity of care and the needs of all children are met.

“Children’s welfare and safety is given a high priority as staff effectively implement the setting’s robust policies and procedures and encourage children to learn how to keep themselves safe.

“Strong leadership, together with exceptional methods for self-evaluation, demonstrates the setting’s commitment to continuous improvement.”

Nursery manager Michelle Tankard said everyone was delighted.

“The rating reflects the hard work and dedication of staff and the voluntary management committee making an excellent team,” she said. “Staff constantly reflect on practice and continue to further their professional development to offer the highest quality provision with an aim of improving outcomes for all children.”
