Children around the world affected by natural disasters, war and famine can still enjoy Christmas thanks to kind-hearted pupils.

Youngsters at Rastrick Independent School are taking part in Operation Christmas Child, run by Christian charity Samaritan’s Purse.

The project involves filling old shoe boxes with goodies such as sweets, school supplies, toiletries, cards and letters.

The charity then flies them out to disadvantaged children all over the world.
