Shirley Manor Primary School in Wyke is celebrating after being awarded a gold standard Primary Science Quality Mark which aims to improve science teaching and attainment .

Judith Carnelley, science coordinator who led the project at the school, said: “At Shirley Manor, science is very high on the agenda as we believe a ‘hands on’ approach to learning can encourage and entice learners. Through completing the Primary Science Quality Mark we are on our way to our next step to share our successes in science with other schools.”
