Friends say a fond farewell

STUDENTS enjoyed a memorable night as they bid farewell to friends.

Their last social event of the school year the group of the sixth form students at Rastrick High School enjoyed a three-course meal at the Casa in Elland Road, Brighouse.

Dressed in suits and ball gowns they then danced the night away with music provided by a DJ before hitting Halifax town centre to continue the partying.

Voted as this year’s prom king was Jack Leonard and prom queen was Hollie Aitken.

Certificates were also given to the best dressed male and female, funniest person, most likely to be a millionaire and best hair do to name but a few.

The evening was organised by staff members and a small group of students.

Special thanks were given to Leigha Maughan who decorated the room in a white and black theme and went above and beyond to make it a special occasion.

Head of year, Roz Oates, said they had a fantastic night.

“It was a lovely atmosphere and they all made a really big effort.

“It was quite a formal meal and there was a lot of hugs between the students.”
