STUDENTS arrived in style to their prom at Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top.
Year 11 pupils at Rastrick High School arrived in various forms of transport including vintage cars and limos for a two-course meal and disco.
During the celebration the prom king and queen, Tom Brownridge and Georgina Thornton, were crowned, and awards were presented for attendance and the best dressed male and female.
Organiser Janette Beevers, said they all looked fantastic. “Everybody was dressed up to the nines, the girls looked gorgeous and most of the lads had suits on and looked so smart and it was fantastic to see them all like that,” she said. “The students all enjoyed it and when I have spoken to parents they have said that the children really enjoyed it so a good night for everyone.”
It was an extra special night for one 16-year-old who had been preparing for the school prom for a number of months. Alex Jowett, suffers from brittle bones and had been doing various exercises so she could don her dream shoes for the event.
Alex said she had an amazing night and it was definitely worth all the waiting and preparation to wear her heels.
