A Brighouse based hobbyist app developer has joined forces with a nearby business to help deliver speedy sandwiches.

Keith Boothroyd, who lives at Whinny Hill Park, has teamed up with Peter Nolan at the Spout House Deli to create a new phone app to order sandwiches and other products in advance.

In June, he approached the sandwich shop at Hove Edge, with an idea to create the Android app to order sandwiches and other products in advance.

The pilot project will look to maximize productivity and sales with the shop.

Mr Boothroyd said: “The app is designed to enable customers to view the menu from a sandwich shop and select products and a collection time to suit the customer. This is ideal for Peter, as he told me that the majority of his customers are workers from the local area.

“Orders are sent in a text (using SMS) to the shop. The sandwich shop can then assemble the sandwich in advance at a quiet period, ready for collection by the customer at the requested time.

“This means that the customer is not waiting in the shop for their order to be assembled, thus allowing the sandwich shop staff to manage their time more effectively.”

He is keen to expand his Android app portfolio and he is happy to hear from anyone.
