SUMMER fun dance classes will be held at Southowram Community Centre.

The classes will be run by Stacey Laycock who first started dancing at the age of four and continued to go onto a musical theatre course at Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama in Nottingham.

Following the course she decided to follow her passion and learn how to teach dance professionally. “I went on to take my examinations in teaching,” she said.

“I love teaching dance and seeing how it develops a child’s personality and confidence. “I opened up Miss Stacey’s School of Dance at Southowram in March. I chose the community centre as I live in the area. Two weeks later we did our first ever end of term performance for parents and friends to show how much the children have progressed in such a short space of time.

At the end of the performance we had a surprise visit from Mickey Mouse courtesy of Colourful Characters who handed out certificates for the children and joined in the dancing.

The school will reopen as normal after the summer holidays For more information about the Summer Classes contact Miss Stacey on 07791209353.
