Police day of action gets several positive results

Officers from the Lower Valley neighbourhood policing team were joined by colleagues from Upper Valley and Central NPTs in a joint day of action to tackle metal theft and speeding. Officers from HM Revenue and Customs and Regional Roads Policing were also helped to carry out vehicle checks at Wyke crossroads and Park Road, Elland.

Two people were found to be in possession of cannabis and were issued with a warning, three drivers had samples of diesel taken to check for red diesel and one driver was issued with a ticket for £200 as he had no tachograph chart.

One vehicle stopped was stolen from the Bradford area - the driver was arrested, one driver was issued with a ticket and three points on his licence for speeding and two drivers who were not wearing seat belts were fined.
