Police are appealing for anyone who saw a silver coloured BMW being abandoned on Arches Street, after it was used in Halifax robbery.

The car, which was stolen previously, was involved in a robbery of a jewellers on Corn Market, Halifax at 4.51pm on Monday January 5.

During the incident three men entered the store and stole a number of watches. They had baseball bats and sledge-hammers on them. They then made off in the BMW - a 520D model - which had the registration DV63 RMO.

The BMW was then found on Arches Street at 8.12pm and another vehicle was seen a short time later reversing at speed.

Detective Sergeant Ross Wadsworth of Calderdale CID, said: “I am specifically appealing for anyone who saw the BMW being parked up or subsequently left unattended on Arches Street to get in contact.

“It is quite possible that the car was being driven in a suspicious manner - perhaps being driven very quickly at the time so may have stood out.”

Call Calderdale CID on 101.
