Couple named in M62 crash

THE couple killed in the M62 crash have been named.

Hair salon owner Marck Mchale and his wife Tamsie, from Bishop Auckland in County Durham, were travelling their Audi A5 on the westbound carriageway of the M62 when they were in collision with a HGV shortly before 6am yesterday.

Mr Mchale, 46, and his wife, 43, died at the scene from their injuries.

The driver of the HGV, a 43-year-old from North, East Lincolnshire, was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.

The incident led to the M62 between junction 26 Chain Bar and junction 25 Brighouse being shut for almost 12 hours. It reopened at around 5.30pm.

Motorists faced huge delays through Brighouse especially along Brdaford Road as traffic was diverted.

Anyone who saw the incident or either of the vehicles is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 01924 293047.
