The Brighouse Civic Trust has taken the theme of ‘Churches and Chapels’ to mark this year’s Civic Day.
Running until June 25, the public are invited to view an exhibition of religious buildings to be found in Brighouse, Rastrick, Hipperholme, Southowram, Lightcliffe, Bailiff Bridge and Coley.
A number of important churches have been converted to offices or apartments and many continue to thrive as places of worship or community centres.
The exhibition is being held at the Salvation Army Community Church on King Street, and will be open on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9am until 12pm.
The first ever Civic Day was held in 2011, involving more than 200 community groups across England.
The day is a national celebration of civic pride, when communities across the country put on events and help visitors to discover and better understand the area in which they live..
