MODELS were strutting their stuff to raise vital funds for a children’s hospice.

A fashion show organised by Brighouse Inner Wheel has helped to raise around £770 for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, Brackenhall near Brighouse.

The show included the latest fashions from Brief Encounter in Brighouse, Flair of Elland and Ciella also in Elland.

Kindly modelled by professionals and family and friends of members of Brighouse Inner Wheel the event at Rastrick Bowling Club was hailed a huge success.

President Val Linton said she decided to do the fashion show last July.

“It went really well and there was a lot of people who knew each other so it turned out to be quite a nice social evening.

“I am very happy with the amount we raised which was £777.50. It was quite a pleasant surprise to raise that much money and the Fixby Friends of Forget Me Not who had a stall on the evening also raised £74.50 which was great.”

The club has been supporting the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice during Val’s time as president along with the MS Society.

The next event for the club is the Diamond Jubilee in June.
