Charity day for friend

Dayle Wood at The Commercial and Railway Inn on Gooder Lane has a quiz night Thursday evening.

On Saturday night they are holding a charity car wash with “three blonde babes and a bald bloke” all in aid of a family friend who has Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome which causes delays in growth and development, and seizures.

“Jamiah is disabled and needs an extension on her home and while she has received some funding its not enough,” said Dayle.

As well as the car wash, inside the pub they are building their own version of the extension with Lego bricks which can be purchased for fifty pence each.

“At the beginning of the week we had already raised £150 along just with the Lego bricks which is fantastic,” added Dayle.

On Saturday night they have music from the piano man and also it’s sing-a-long time with the Scaredy Cats.

The weekend finishes on Sunday with DJ Des and his sounds of the 60’s.
