Chance to join the Christmas treats

Christmas time is here and the Rex Cinema is welcoming everyone to join in their annual Christmas treats.

Offering free tea and mince pies, the cinema will screen “It’s a Wonderful Life”, a 1946 classic movie, in an attempt to spread the cheer around this time of year.

For one day only it will be shown on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, at 10.30am,

In the up-and-coming weeks there will be a range of film showings and organ concerts.

The Christmas organ concert will feature Ryan Edwards, a cameo from James Kenny, a choir and a carol singing group from Elland Southgate Methodist Church, with organist Ray Wilkinson, on Sunday, December 21, at 2.30pm. Admission to the concert is £5 for everybody.

“We aim to make this Christmas as happy as possible,” said the Rex’s proprietor Charles Morris. “The Christmas organ concert is always the highlight of the season and ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ is the ultimate feel-good Christmas film. guaranteed to cheer everyone up.”
