Cash boost for guides

The 1st Brighouse Guides have been given a cash boost thanks to the Lloyds Bank Community Fund.

Votes cast by the public have seen the group awarded £2,000 to help with its activities and day-to-day running.

Graham Lindsay, director of responsible business and community affairs at Lloyds Banking Group, said: “It has been fantastic to see so many members of the public nominating and voting for good causes in the 2014 Lloyds Bank Community Fund.

“Looking at all the wonderful causes that the community fund awards will go towards is truly heartening to see. Helping our communities thrive in this way is crucial to us delivering our ambition to help Britain prosper.”

More than 700,000 people will benefit either directly or indirectly from the good work the 1,400 good causes across the country will be able to deliver as a result of receiving a community fund 2014 award.
