Businesses came together to celebrate their success in Brighouse.
More than 50 business people from all around the area migrated to promote their business, chat about their business journey so far and enjoy the ambiance over an Italian buffet at Prego in Brighouse.
Lots of business areas were represented at the Brighouse Link networking event. From telecom experts, HR specialists and solicitors to promoters of healthy living, dog-groomers and photographers.
The speaker at the event was Claire O-Connor, award-winning founder of the successful national franchise business Babyballet.
Claire, a mother of four from Greetland, told her audience her story, recalling Babyballet’s inception and describing how it has developed.
With lots of hard work, support from her family, late night emails and determination, she was now at the peak of personal happiness.
This was something anyone could achieve, she told them, if they were positive and hungry enough for success.
Brighouse Link reintroduced the “network shuffle”- like speed-dating for business – with delegates promoting their businesses for a minute to each person round the table then moving on to another table to meet more people and spread the word. Seven tables of seven people took part making new business connections.
Peter Sleigh and Debbie Story from Sleigh & Story, based in Bradford Road, Brighouse, were hosts for the event, and Lidia Shinwell and the Prego team provided hospitality.
Mr Sleigh said: “It was great to be able to get so many businesses in this area together in one place at the same time for active networking.”
The next Brighouse Link event is to be an NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) taster workshop, which is to be held at Prego on December 2 and 3. The discounted cost of this is £100 +VAT. Anyone interested should email firstname.lastname@example.org to be put on the list or call 01484 723783.
The meetings will continue again in the New Year with lots of interesting speakers lined up.
