The winner of the manufacturing award demonstrates a modern and efficient approach to manufacturing and marketing with a commitment to excellence in its products and service.

The judges were looking for a highly successful trading performance, preferably based on new and improved products as well as established lines.

Richard Blackburn, from sponsors Wilby Insurance, presented Rythm Saigal and VK Jain from Avocet Hardware with the award.

Since being taken over by the Jain family, the company has invested £10.6million to make the firm a force to be reckoned with and its owners have their eyes firmly on redefining home security – specifically the safety of uPVC and other double glazed doors and windows.

Host Clare Frisby said: “In addition, spending on research, new product development and a dedicated laboratory testing facility has been significant.

“Avocet also anticipates an additional 20 warehouse jobs being created as a result of the expansion in 2015.”

CEO of Avocet Hardware, Rythm Saigal, said: “It is not just about the investment we have put into the company but the investment we have put into our people.

“We have got local people here who must be some of the most hard working in Brighouse.

“This is an absolutely fantastic venue and there is a lovely atmosphere.

“It is our first time here but you can see the amount of hard working people there are in Brighouse.”

The shortlist for the award also included Millers Oils and Alco Valves.

Millers Oils independence means it can source the best raw materials for the formulations, and its size means it can respond quickly to new market trends and requirements.

Its research and development centre has enhanced its ability to develop new products, maintain quality of existing products for classic cars and motor racing vehicles.

Alco Valves Ltd has the express purpose of manufacturing a comprehensive range of technically advanced, precision made, high integrity valve products and accessories. The Alco Valves Group announced a further £1,000,000 expansion stream during 2014 and 2015.
