A new Hipperholme convenience store has celebrated its launch with a donation to Overgate Hospice.

Shane Gough, community fund-raiser at the Elland hospice, was the guest of honour when the new Tesco Express store on Leeds Road opened. He also received a cheque for £500.

Store manager Matt Lawson said: “We have really enjoyed our store launch celebrations and I would like to thank Shane for joining us. We are delighted to support the Overgate Hospice with our £500 donation as they are a great charity which carries out such invaluable work in the Hipperholme community.”
Shane said: “£500 will allow us to care for one person on our inpatient unit for one day. I would like to thank Matt and his team for nominating the Overgate Hospice, and the local community for their continued support.”

The store is now open seven days a week from 6am until 11pm, and for added convenience, providing you can find the store not based on the leaflet they delivered to residents, the store has a free cash machine, Click and Collect, self-service tills, and mobile phone top-up facility.

The find us part of the leaflet showed the store to be near to Stump Cross.
