A revised scheme for a £2.4million project at Hipperholme crossroads is expected to be announced.
Calderdale Council had secured funding from the Department of Transport to fund a new traffic scheme at to ease congestion and provide significant benefits to traffic passing through Hipperholme crossroads.
The plans did not come to fruition as land was needed from Hipperholme Christ Church but the leadership team refused to sell the land.
However at Calderdale Cabinet meeting, Councillor Graham Hall (Con, Hipperholme and Lightcliffe), said: “Residents are still worried about future proposals for the Hipperholme crossroads improvements. When will the revised scheme be put out to the public for consultation?”
Deputy leader of the council Barry Collins (Lab, Illingworth and Mixenden) said: “We are looking to bring proposals for Hipperholme crossroads very shortly.”
Hipperholme Preservation Society, which was set up when the first scheme was submitted, said that they were aware of new proposals being put forward and urged residents to get involved in the consultation once the plans are published.
