A Brighouse-based company is upgrading its Evoco 10kw wind turbine to create world leading advancements in wind turbine technology.
Evoco Energy in Thornhill Beck Lane has invested all its profits back into research and development from its last five years of trading to create two pioneering upgrades.
The monitor and control upgrade will allow users to monitor performance by the second and importantly, control their turbine globally from their mobile phone. The system will also feed data back to the head office.
The second part of the upgrade is a modification to the pitch system, Synchro Pitch. Evoco has recruited a leading wind engineer utilising his knowledge and experience to fine-tune the pitch system, a key component of any turbine. This has led to a 12 per cent increase in performance.
Managing director Ryan Gill said: “It is only when you have a sizeable fleet out there that you find out how a turbine reacts and behaves. The knowledge that we’ve gained with our fleet of 200 turbines over the past three years has been invaluable and has allowed us to make huge technological strides including our latest two upgrades the monitor and control system and the Synochro Pitch.
“We feel it is only right that we repay the faith that customers put in us by upgrading the specification of their machines with the latest developments for free.”
He said he felt the upgrades demonstrate their commitment to the customers, technology and their brand. “This next series of upgrades will bring the total research and development and upgrades spend to over £2million.”
Work has already begun on the updates.
