Kirklees College
- Main Sponsor - Small to
Medium sized business award

Kirklees College is proud to sponsor the Brighouse Echo Business Awards and support the good work that takes place in our local area between employers, employees and training providers.

The college’s ethos is to provide all its students with the right skills to succeed in any career they may choose. This applies, not only to our professional training courses, but to our full time vocational courses for 16-19 year olds. We believe in working closely with businesses to make sure this region has a talented, skilled and capable workforce. We want every student to be work-ready when they complete their course.

The college works with hundreds of local businesses across West Yorkshire and our staff have the knowledge to help your business get the right training for your staff.  Kirklees College has a dedicated business development and training unit (BDTU) who work with employers and businesses across the region to provide a wide range of training, development and services that suits each individual or business.

We dedicate our time to finding the right trainer for your business, so you don’t have to. Training can include accredited programmes such as NVQs and professional qualifications, but we also develop bespoke business skills training including leadership and management courses.

We can offer advice on funding for training, provide facilities for events and develop tailor made courses. We also train over 1500 apprentices across the region and can fully support your business throughout Apprenticeship programme, from recruitment to developing the right course content. Apprenticeships are great for business and can help to develop your staff and achieve long term success.

But we don’t just offer training for businesses. We work with public and private sector organisations to shape our future workforce. Many of our partners provide work placements and live briefs, which can benefit both the employer and the student.

We regularly talk to employers and discuss industry training needs or skills gaps and network with industry leaders and innovators to stay in touch with skill requirements. We can then work together to develop our learning programmes for employers in this area. There are always opportunities to join one of our employer forums or attend an employer event, just let us know that you’re interested.

Go to www.kirkleescollege.ac.uk/employers, tweet @KCEmployers or call 0800 781 3020 for advice and help on your training requirements or to partner up with the college to set the right skills agenda.
