THERE are tangible reasons why there is cause for optimism in and around Brighouse. New businesses are moving in, existing businesses are moving to larger premises, firms are adding to their existing workforce.
Last year Brighouse was ranked among the top five most improved town centres in the country.
The Echo plays its part in helping to get things done and was proud to host the inaugural Brighouse Business Awards in 2011 and again in 2012.
The response before, during and after both events surpassed our hopes and expectations as businesses of every imaginable kind staked their claim to be the best in Brighouse.
The Echo is staging this awards scheme against a background of spiralling costs, tightening of belts and a degree of uncertainty over the future. But we believe there has never been a better time to celebrate the achievements and success of our local businesses and the valuable contribution they make to the local economy.
The awards scheme, enthusiastically sponsored for the third year by Armytage Sykes solicitors, covers ten categories and features all types of business, from the major employer to the corner shop, from start-ups to established companies. They recognise success in the market place and the individuals who have contributed to that success. They celebrate talent, commitment and skill. A new award for 2013 will recognise the building industry and all the many people who contribute to construction in the area.
The Brighouse Business Awards culminate in what promises to be another glittering presentation evening on March 7, 2013, at a new home this year, The Holiday Inn, Clifton.
By taking part or by supporting this scheme you are blowing the trumpet for your business and for Brighouse. We look forward to your involvement.
