Brighouse-based Alco Valves Group has received a monthly regional award in recognition of its move into new premises and plans to employ more staff.

The Shooting Star award from Huddersfield Town is given each month, and was handed to Alco for its latest investment into a state-of-the-art production and technology centre based in Brighouse, which has already created many job opportunities and is set to create further roles in the near future.

Since its inception in 1977, Alco has designed, tested and manufactured award-winning valves in the UK and have grown over the years to be recognised as an international company and has also received the Queens Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category.

However, success in the global market has only strengthened the company’s desire to contribute in enriching the community it operates within.

Alco’s regional sales manager James Hinchliffe received the accolade at the new facility located at Gooder Lane.

He said: “We take pride in our Brighouse heritage, where we have been based for almost four decades.

“As a former University intern here at Alco, I am a prime example of the company’s commitment to inspiring the next generation of professionals.”

Operations Manager of Alco, James Stangroom, also commented: “It is encouraging to know there are organisations in completely different industries like Huddersfield Town that go out of their way to highlight the tremendous effort made by businesses in the region.

“All of us at Alco are honoured by this recognition and we look forward to working with the local community to bring further success to the region.”
