Generous customers have been putting their spare change to good use and helped to raise vital funds for the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust.
Sainsburys in Brighouse has been supporting the charity since June and collection buckets have been placed at the end of checkouts.
Thanks to the generosity of shoppers, the store on Bradford Road has raised £1,020.
Karen Tippett from Sainsburys said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all our customers who have supported us.
“The collections have been running for the last four months and we have already donated £400.”
The supermarket has also held trolley collections where gifts have been donated for cancer patients.
Brighouse Sainsburys has chosen the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust as their charity of the year and will be holding more fund raising events in store.
The charity was set up in memory of the former Brighouse High School pupil who had four types of cancer, three of them very aggressive, and she became an extremely rare case before she passed away in 1996, a week after her 17th birthday.
