A Brighouse group will be consulting members of the public to get their views on the state of the subways in the town centre.

The Build a Brighter Brighouse group will hold a consultation at the entrance to the Bradford Road subway next to the bus station.

From 10am on Friday, January 16, members will be spending a couple of hours asking for views on the underpass and what people would like to see to improve them.

Ideas being put forward include painting murals depicting Brighouse success stories on the walls, such as images of the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band, the Brighouse 1940s Weekend and the Victorian Christmas Festival.

The subways have been a source of problems for a number of years, often being vandalised and graffiti sprayed on the walls.
