The Brighouse and Rastrick Band will perform on BBC One tomorrow night in a tribute to Sir Terry Wogan following his death.

The band famously reached number two in the UK Singles Chart in 1977 with their recording of “The Floral Dance”, where it stayed for nine weeks.

The song was covered by the veteran broadcaster one year later.

A band spokesperson said: “The band are honoured to be playing its part in paying tribute to the great Sir Terry Wogan on Monday night’s The One Show.”

It has also confirmed that the Derek Broadbent, the conductor of the original Floral dance and arranger of the music, will front the performance.

A Facebook group has also been created to call for Terry Wogan’s version to be this year’s official Children in Need song.

The show will air tomorrow at 7pm.
