STAFF at Carr Green Primary School will be donning eye-catching bras and pounding the streets to raise money for breast cancer charities on June 11.

The group of around 13 are taking part in the Edinburgh Moonwalk in aid of breast cancer charity, Walk the Walk.

Three members will be completing the Full Moon - 26.2 miles - with the remaining woman are completing the Half Moon - 13.1 miles - both at night.

Head teacher Lesley Bowyer said they were hoping to raise £13,000. “We chose to do it because so many of us know or are related to people who have been directly affected by breast cancer. All of them, including staff members, parents of children and family members of staff have had very successful treatment,” she said.

“This charity has raised a lot of money for treatment which helps prevent hair loss during chemotherapy and that is something we are raising money for.”
