A RASTRICK therapist has raised £260 for the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust.
Lynni Newsome who runs Top2Toe has been offering No Hands massage for a discount prize and giving the amount straight to the charity which was set up in memory of former Brighouse High School student Laura Crane.
Lynni said: “The massages were extremely popular and I felt horrible having to turn people down. Everybody loved it as well and the feedback was amazing. Some people even came back for it twice.”
Among the customers was former Leeds Rhino star Keith Senior who is a massive supporter of the charity.
Fund-raiser Helen Mervill for the Laura Crane said: “A big thank you to Lynni for thinking of us and choosing us to benefit. All the response I have had from people have been really positive and Lynni has really pushed it and promoted it for us.”
But Lynni isn’t stopping there with her fund-raising efforts for the charity. She is intending to jump out of an aircraft at 15,000 feet.
On June 24 Lynni will be travelling to Lincolnshire in a bid to raise £400 or more.
“I have always wanted to do it. I am expecting it to be breathtaking and when I am up there it will be scary,” said Lynni.
“I just want to support the charity because it is a local girl and I wanted to continue on with the support from the no hands massage. More people seem to support it because it was a local charity.”
