Residents and community groups in Rastrick are invited to the Big Local launch event, with buffet supper, at the technology centre at Rastrick High School.
The aims of the event, which starts at 6pm until 8pm, are simple, to find out what Big Local is all about, to meet some like minded people who want to make Rastrick even better.
Rastrick has been allocated £1million over the next 10 years to invest on making their area an even better place to live. The money has been awarded by the national lottery, from the Big Lottery Fund, which is aimed at improving areas up and down the country which so far have not had their fair share lottery cash.
Tony Mullin, the Big Local Rep said; “The meeting is open to everyone so we invite everyone to come.
“The launch event will focus on telling people what Big Local is and giving out details about what the core messages are.
“We want to try and get through to people that Big Local is a bit different and involve as many people as possible.”
The Lottery funded scheme is being managed by Local Trust, a recently established independent organisation, set up by the Community Development Foundation and its consortium partners to run Big Local.
